Image credit: CCS ChemistryThe convergence of supramolecular chemistry and polymer science has stimulated intense interest in the design and development of diverse supramolecular polymeric systems. The dynamic, reversible, and highly tunable nature of noncovalent interactions imparts these materials with unique structure, emergent properties, and adaptive functions, positioning them as a transformative materials paradigm for a more sustainable future. In this review, we highlight recent advances in the field while articulating the fundamental questions and grand challenges that continue to shape its development, spanning polymerization methodologies, mechanistic understanding, materials construction, and impactful applications. By integrating recent advances with unresolved fundamental questions and grand challenges, this review aims to illuminate emerging opportunities and inspire the next generation of innovation in supramolecular polymer science.
